We’re recruiting for a Planning Consultant
We are looking for our next ambitious and driven team member, to complement the existing multi-talented group here at MPG!
The MPG team is widely recognised for its approachability, straight-talking nature, and success rate. Over the past five years, we have successfully expanded our expertise beyond our core minerals and waste service to all environmental planning disciplines – offering a single point of contact for industry and stakeholders.
Role overview
As an Environmental Planning Consultant, your role would centre around the preparation of planning applications and supporting statements across a wide variety of schemes, whilst providing support to specialist team members in their areas of expertise – such as environmental permitting and environmental monitoring. Recent projects, similar to those you would come across in the position, include:
City-centre industrial (B2/B8) development and Biodiversity Enhancement Scheme across a Victorian quarry.
Redevelopment of a WW2 airfield, including an HGV depot and multistorey office.
Biodiverse quarry restoration schemes.
Recycling centres.
Experience
As we look to consolidate our rapid expansion, we need an individual who has:
At least 12 months of experience in Town and Country Planning or environmental consultancy.
A BSc/BA, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (such as Town and Country Planning or Geography).
Experience in preparing aspects of, or the entirety of, supporting statements to planning applications.
Requirements
Ideally, our new team member would:
Have a full U.K. driving licence.
Have experience in the preparation of plans/drawings – our team regularly uses Photoshop, Illustrator, and GIS packages.
Be working towards membership of the RTPI – such as Associate and, ultimately, Chartership).
Hold an MSc/MA in an RTPI-accredited course.

Additional information
Location: Bingley, West Yorkshire or Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Start date: Immediate.
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 – depending on experience.
